Most days, I work making coffee in the Barnes & Noble Cafe. I currently work as a Lead Barista, after being a Senior Barista (2023-2025) and a regular barista (2019-2023). I open/close the cafe as needed, maintain inventory and stock levels, and work to reach sales goals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also worked to maintain the state-mandated cleaning logs, keeping the indoor dining environment safe for customers, and the work area safe for myself and others. Occasionally I work a book selling shift, where I assist customers, make recommendations of books, fulfill ship-from-store orders, and sell memberships.

Though this is not my dream job, I have gained a lot of insight about how to please customers in difficult situations, and have gained management and coaching experience in two different locations.
